Coffee Mugs
I don't know how it began, possibly in the 6th grade when I saw my mom come home with that white cup and signature green little mermaid lady on it? Or when I was studying senior (joking I didn't study senior year!?) for all my big exams.
* But I need coffee. *
Me and the boy's morning routine always starts with someone offering to make coffee. (Ok...sometimes I beg not to for those beloved 5 more minutes of bed time)
I'm not a snob when it comes to coffee, although I do enjoy indulging in a $5 soy latte everyone once and a while. Worth it.
I do wish I lived in a house where all the coffee cups were coordinated, but I think this might be an anomaly. Coffee cups were not designed to match, coordinate or do anything to resemble a cohesive unit in the kitchen.
You have father's day mugs, mothers day mugs, happy birthday mugs, Drink more coffee mugs (you know what I'm talking about...the reeeaaallly OVERSIZED mugs), Ugly-Plain-Small-White-Hotel Mug your husband brought home from a business trip. , travel mug, Stained mug (Probably your favorite), I could go on.
BUT.
What if we lived in a world where all of our mugs went together?

Ok, and what about how only like 5 mugs can fit in a cabinet because of those darn handles!? Don't worry leave if to the coffee gods to solve this one..Thanks again Starbucks. Should we buy stock now or later?

Some Summer Picks

I'm a huge Michael Kors fan, especially for summer. His fresh, all-American style is very representative of my personal style. The quality and detail he puts into his designs is fabulous and interesting. Not only do I love his clothing collections, accessories and shoes (some of which I recently purchased), but his bedding collection is just as luxe.
Michael Kors "Bali" Bed Linens
Bali Bed Linens $64-$279
300 thread count cotton sateen from Italy

Michael Kors Mombasa Bed Linens, Queen
Mombasa Bed linens $59-$249
350 thread count cotton percale, Astor suede pillows

This is my favorite summer pick from his entire collection.
Michael Kors MICHAEL KORS Midsize Ceramic Chronograph Watch, White
Midsize ceramic chronograph watch $450

Although I couldn't really afford his watch, by boyfriend gifted me with a similar style from Fossil.

On a more personal front; I have finally gotten a job, decided what school I'm going to do and degree I'm going for. I'm also still planning on making a 6 month trip to Australia with the boyfriend. I think I may be nearing the end of my quarter-life crisis at the youthful age of 20...I'm just happy for when it's over.

BEAUTIFUL ROOM INTERIOR by A.SHAKOOR HINGORO.
I'm still trying to decide what my personal design style. I gravitate towards both modern and vintage design elements. I love color, but I also the calmness of white.

I love grays and love the look of this room. I think a bed room should be absent of distractions and should be the most peaceful room in a home. (Which means no TV...sorry boyfriend)

headed to the lake

Headed out to the lake today to relax and have some fun on a friend's boat. Wanted to leave everyone with a peaceful, fun living room. I love the retro green furniture and shaggy dog! I want to snuggle with him. Have a great summer Friday!

External Motivation

Sometimes I just can't get myself motivated to get off the couch and hit the gym.(Being the burnt out college athlete that I am.) So I resort to external motivation. They include:

My new Nike Running shorts I had to buy, because they say:
on the waistband.

The size 27 William Rast Jeans I'm dying to own:

one word: Cupcakes: (oh! sidenote; if anyone decides to read the July issue of Galmour, they say, "cupcaking" is In?! Their description of this term is very comical, but I'm down for some cupcaking anyday!!)

Michael Kors Bathing Suit:

Now that blogging has kept me from getting on that treadmill. I must say goodbye and slip on those nikes. Have a good day!

Chic Hamptons Style

I would love to visit the Hampton's sometime, but I know it won't be for a long time. I would also like the opportunity to take a tour around many of the interiors. Especially Paltrow's home! I used to not be a fan of black, but her home completely changed my mind. I don't know if I would put it in a home in the Hampton's, but its still gorgeous and romantic. And the yellow chairs in Currie's home could be a fun DIY project, on a slighter smaller budget.
