Ode to my Basil Plant

Oh my sweet-smelling darling,
how tasty and good you have been to me.
When I picked you up from Whole Foods
for just 2 buck fifty,
I got so excited!

I promised you a pretty pot
and fresh, moist soil,
but oops, I did it again.
You've become another withered, soggy mess.
And I only blame myself.
Maybe it's on to plant #3.
It just wasn't meant to be.
****

Not to sound pretentious, but I am a bright, young and intelligent individual. Unfortunately, I have the incapability to keep my poor basil plants alive. It's so sad, I vow to someday have a beautiful, thriving herb garden at some point...I just don't think it's while I'm in college. :( I guess I just have to keep replacing the poor guys.

I found this little herb map on Millie Says. I'm jealous.

  1. That is a beautiful blue and white pot. It's worth it to keep trying -- I can't resist the smell of fresh basil!

  2. That herb map is amazing! One of my goals is to successfully grow my own veggies/herbs one day...not sure if that will ever happen! :)
