Summer Dreams on a Saturday

It's been a lazy Saturday. I decided at 10 it was a good idea to get up and make some coffee. Also on my quest to break my boyfriend's desire for Mc Donalds, I made him a whole wheat, egg, turkey breast and cheese muffin. I opted for a whole wheat, tofu and tomato basil hummus sandwhich. We're still on the couch watching Flip This House, but at least we're up!

Happy Summer Monday!

It's official summertime for me starting this Monday and it feels great. The only thing keeping me in a state of pure relaxation and bliss: Bugs. After 2 years of living in the south, I have yet to get attacked by those little pests like I have this season. Watching 4 hours of baseball did me in and 10 bite's later, my mood was less than enthusiastic.
I want to develop a bug repellent spray that doesn't smell awful. Like a perfume or mist that smells delicious, but yet can keep the bugs at bay. Just a thought.

Elle Decor: Recycled glass bug catchers $13 each. www.Gaiam.com
Citronella Candle and Incense
Or how about some Citronella Candles from Smith And Hawken $19.99

On a more random note, I took a quick trip to pier 1 yesterday and got some cute votive holders and My favorite Vegan Chocolate cake mix by Cherrybrook Kitchen. They were on sale!

10 more minutes in the oven and I'll have delicious vegan chocolate cake for my lazy, summer self. :D

Creative Carafes

Summer is almost here! And I could not be more excited about it. After a rather stressful year, I'm ready to take a moment, breathe and enjoy some relaxing days in the sun. A good book, a beach and some vino, but what to put it in!? Well, although I have been extremely busy with what seemed like a week of birthday celebrating, I did however get to sneak into Restoration Hardware while my boyfriend napped in the car before our dinner date...

And quickly found my new D.I.Y project. I loved the look of this simple Carafe, but didn't love the $50 price tag. (Isn't unemployment fun?) So with a less expense carafe and some glass etching supplies I hope I can make some fun ones for summer!

Happy Early Birthday to Me!

My birthday is next Saturday and I can't wait. Although I would love a huge, spring birthday cake, I just want my friends around me and enjoy the day. Hopefully it will be a warm, beautiful day.
My boyfriend keeps asking me what I would love for my birthday present. These are the from the new Tiffany's Collection. I am absolutely obsessed with them. They are so sweet and range in price from $100-$10000. I am considering treating myself with one! (Although who wouldn't love receiving one as a gift?) They would look great solo or layered. *My new Obsession.
